Arzum Okka Rich Automatic Turkish Coffee Maker Review

This is our review of the Arzum Okka Rich. This Automatic Turkish coffee machine sits somewhere in the middle of Arzum Okka’s lineup, and offers a lot of the most premium features the company has to offer. 

You get a well-made coffee machine that uses high-end materials, and the capacity is also higher than some machines we’ve tested. 

The ‘Rich’ also brings a ton of adjustability and customization options to your brewing experience. 

Arzum Okka Rich Automatic Coffee Machine: Design

Kicking it off with the design of this automatic Turkish coffee machine, we have a healthy mix of stainless steel and high quality plastics for the build. 

Arzum Okka chose to use stainless steel for those parts of the machine that will see the most abuse, such as the mixer, thus ensuring better longevity. 

The rest of the machine is made of high-quality plastics, which keep it relatively lightweight. 

As for the look and feel, we have to say we’re pretty impressed. The black and gold color combo has pretty much become Arzum’s calling card, and it looks just as premium here as it does on their other offerings. 

Ease of use also benefits from the large and ergonomically-designed control panel. This uses an array of buttons that let you control various functions and settings. 

An integrated LED light adds a bit of ambiance to the machine, while also serving as a visual indicator that the machine is running. 

Arzum Okka Rich Automatic Coffee Machine: Capacity

The higher price of this unit means you get a bit more capacity to play with, compared to other machines. As such, a full tank is enough to make 5 cups of coffee at a time. The pot itself measures in at 10.5 ounces, which is larger than some of the budget offerings in Arzum Okka’s own lineup. 

Controls

If you’re the type of person who prefers convenience over customization, this machine offers one-button brewing. Still, if you fancy yourself a bit of an amateur barista, there are plenty of options to play around with. 

This machine gets you variable temperature settings, which we missed on the less expensive Minio from Arzum Okka. You can adjust the temperature to your liking, though it will have to be in intervals of 1 C when increasing and 3 C when decreasing the temperature. 

Brewing

Well, we have always been fans of the brewing performance offered by these machines, and  the Rich is no different. 

Each batch of coffee had a smooth texture that pairs well with a snack. It offers a fuller profile, with every bit of flavor being extracted from the coffee. 

Here, the stainless steel mixer ensures consistent foam production. Similarly, the use of BPA free plastics means the flavor of your coffee is not colored or diluted by anything else. 

A feature that stood out to us was the Auto Altitude Detection System. If you’ve ever had a cup of coffee at high altitudes, you might be familiar with the weak taste and lackluster flavor. 

This is a smart feature that automatically detects how high above sea level you are, and adjusts temperature accordingly for optimal brewing and flavor extraction. 

It’s features like this that really put this coffee machine over the top for us. And if you want to be a bit more hands-on, there are ‘classic’ and ‘strong’ options that let you adjust the taste to your liking. 

Another feature that deserves praise is the milk coffee function. This allows you to use milk in the coffee machine, which you can’t do on lower-end offerings. Capacity does get reduced to 4 cups, which is a shame.  

Price

Considering how many cool features and adjustability you get with this coffee machine, we think it’s worth the slightly higher price. 

Are there less expensive machines that offer similar brewing performance? Sure. But none offer features like the altitude detection system, or the ability to use milk in the machine, putting this puppy in a class of its own.

Additional Features

Besides the fantastic brewing capabilities, this machine is also stuffed to the gills with cool features. 

It has an overflow protection system that uses a sensor to detect when the pot is full and prevent spills. Similarly, the auto-shutdown feature also comes in pretty handy. 

A slow-brewing function is also seen here. This is for the person who is willing to wait a little bit longer for their coffee but get every molecule of flavor the grounds have to offer in return. 

Lastly, the machine is programmable as well, making it that much more convenient.
